September 2015

I blinked and am surprised to discover we're now well into autumn. I find it a good season to review my websites to make sure they are kept up-to-date.

While I prefer to wait to format my website content and documents until the very last moment, I copy and paste frequently. Sometimes the text and formatting get lost in translation, here are a few things you can look out for to keep things styled how you want.

Late last month, WordPress 4.3 was released along with WooCommerce 2.4. There have been additional updates to both since then. Please let me know if you have questions or concerns about updating.

Sometimes how I work is that I discover it's not working. I've begun to revise my systems, last night I built my new desk, after moving out of the basement office I've occupied for the past six years. It's a subtle change and I hope it is what I needed.

I am always coming across fascinating links of interest. Have you come across an interesting link? Would you like me to explain a technology concept in something you read? Please reply and let me know.

Any new tech issues or questions this month? Please let me know, I'd be happy to help.

If you are overwhelmed by this monthly newsletter, there's a link at the bottom to unsubscribe. There are other ways to keep informed; the archive is accessible (there's a link at my site) and I also share the newsletter on Facebook and Twitter

keep well,

Why didn't my copy & paste work?

Clients sometimes contact me concerned because the formatting in their blog post isn’t quite what they expected. They’d spent hours making their post just so and are surprised and distraught to discover it doesn’t look how they planned.

How I Work ...
making changes

I recently finished phase one of a complex project. During the past few months it became obvious several of my systems were no longer working efficiently. So I began to make changes to improve and fix what was not working properly.
