net neutrality, may 2018 — red alert
Net Neutrality is still under threat. Some of you may have experienced the very annoying popup to this post urging you to take action. It was incredibly annoying. Believe me, it's no where near as annoying and frustrating your life will be if the FCC destroys net neutrality. What's GDPR?
What is GDPR and why should you care? It’s an EU Regulation (the General Data Protection Regulation) going live on 25 May 2018 with the goal of protecting the processing of personal data for socio-cultural or financial activities (source). You’ve likely been hearing about it a lot recently as the 25th is rapidly approaching and social media privacy has been in the news a lot lately thanks to Facebook. What's 1.1.1.1?
What is this new 1.1.1.1 thing that was announced on April first? Was it a joke? Is it something that you as a small business owner need to think about, and if so what do you need to do? Today I’ll discuss three ways you can work with your theme to tweak or completely change how your site looks. These advancements make me happy, they provide clients control over their website technology and free me to focus on more challenging (and exciting) issues.

If you are concerned about GDPR it's very important that you keep your plugins up-to-date in the coming weeks.

Is it important that you read the change logs? No. However, even when we're not fretting about compliance it is important to keep your WordPress system up-to-date. In addition to fixing bugs and continuing to make sure your site works optimally, often new features that slip-in which can improve how you work.
